Self Defense - Protect Your Rights

If a situation were to arise while you are walking home late one night, you are by yourself when you hear footsteps approaching. Sounds like the start of a movie, but it could happen if you put yourself in this position.

Of course the best result would be not to put yourself in this situation. Take the bus, a taxi or arrange for a friend to drive you home, anything would be better than what was about to happen to you. The first thing that happens is fear sets in because you know hes ready to attack, and you are not and that is what he counts on, hes already running on adrenalin. then he produces a weapon, maybe a knife or a gun, you have no way of fighting back, you are frozen with fear by now.

The attacker could be physically bigger than you, is more street smart, or had a lot more physical confrontations than you. There is not enough time to weigh up your options, as time seems to go very fast when attacks like this happen and especially if you have no formal self defense training. You certainly can not talk your way out of this predicament, and there is no use running unless you are a sprint champion, and what if he was on drugs, they usually are, and they become super strong, feel no pain and seem to be able to fight forever. Well you now have yourself in one of the worst positions you would ever want to be in.

You now what, there is absolutely no reason in this world why you had to get yourself into that position, of not being able to defend yourself. You just did not think. The attacker did because that is how he lives his life, you put yourself in a vulnerable position, easy pickings. It was dark, you were alone, the attacker only has to watch your stance, how you carry yourself and how you stand up for yourself when he approaches, had you had self defense lessons you would know how to handle the above situation and the outcome of what could have happened would be very different.
